The aim of the History department is to stimulate students’ interest and enjoyment of history. By supporting students to develop their historical skills, they can begin to ask questions stimulated by an exploration of a broad range of historical topics.

GCSE AQA Specification B – Modern World History
Students of GCSE History will be tested on four key skills: the deployment of knowledge; use of resources; interpretations and representations of the past; quality of written communication. Periods of history studied are as follows: Conflict in the modern world; Governments in action in the first half of the twentieth century; British and world history.
