Science represents two of the five core subjects that all students must study to GCSE Level. As a Specialist Science College, SGS enjoys excellent facilities. There are nine teachers in the department and eight fully equipped laboratories with preparation rooms for each subject.

GCSE Level
AT Key Stage 4 both Double Award Co-ordinated Science (AQA) and Triple Science (AQA) options are offered. The Triple Science option is available for Physics, Chemistry or Biology. The time allocated at Key Stage 4 is six periods for a Double Award and nine periods for a Triple Award.
