Develop your ability to respond perceptively

Students achieving a Grade B at English Language GCSE are eligible to study English Language (AQA) AS/A2 Level Syllabus A.

AS Level
At AS, we aim to introduce students to concepts and frameworks for the study of language and enable them to apply these to investigate their own and others’ use of spoken and written language. We aim to develop our students’ skills in speaking and writing for different audiences and purposes. We also aim to develop students’ ability to respond perceptively to the different varieties of English that they hear and read.

A2 Level
At A2, we aim to develop further our students’ knowledge of a range of linguistic frameworks, from which they can select the most appropriate for investigation and analysis and to refine students’ spoken and written competence. We also aim to widen the variety of texts from both the past and the present which students can analyse and to which they can respond perceptively.
