Welcome to our School

Children's Mental Health Week

February has also been the month to highlight Children’s Mental Health Week on the theme of Growth.

Year groups watched a virtual assembly and heard about stories of grwoth from a number of well-known people. We also took time to remind students about the many support services available to them regarding their mental health including signing up for sessions with our School Counsellor, April Manderson who joined us in October. As well as one-to-one sessions, April is also holding twice-weekly drop-in sessions for students.  We are also pleased to be part of the first phase of the introduction of Mental Health Support Teams. We have been allocated a Mental health Support Worker who will be coming into school shortly to work with students.  As part of this pilot, we are able to offer on online information session for parents about self-harm, which will take place on Wednesday 9th March.  Details have been emailed home.
