Success at the FutureChef Regional Heats

Stretford Grammar Student Cooks Her Way to Regional FutureChef Regional Heats!
Stretford Grammar School is thrilled to announce a major success in the Springboard FutureChef competition! Year 10 student Tilly, has successfully advanced to the highly competitive Regional Final, following a stellar performance at the Local Heats. Year 9 student Ed and Tilly both produced food of an exceptional standard at the event, earning high praise from a panel of top culinary experts.

The students cooked under the watchful eyes of a prestigious panel of industry professionals who served as the local heats judges:
- James Holden, from The Royal School of Culinary Arts.
- Paul Taylor, Programme Leader of Hospitality and Catering at Trafford College Group.
- Paul Beckley, Executive Chef at the Kimpton Clocktower, Manchester.
- Lucas, the impressive last year’s winner of the competition.
A Stellar Performance & Regional Bound
Both Ed and Tilly showcased immense talent, creativity, and poise while planning, preparing, and presenting a delicious meal for two. The quality of cooking demonstrated by both students was excellent, highlighting their dedication to Food and Nutrition. We are delighted to confirm that Tilly has successfully advanced to the Regional Final, which is set to take place in February! Her advancement is a fantastic achievement that puts her one step closer to the national final. Furthermore, to help her prepare for the next stage, Tilly will be given valuable mentoring sessions with one of the local judges, Paul Taylor. This professional guidance will be an incredible asset as she perfects her dishes for the regional competition.

We are incredibly proud of both Ed and Tilly; they approached the competition with maturity and genuine passion, and the quality of their cooking was excellent. Tilly's success in reaching the Regional Final is a testament to her hard work, and the opportunity to be mentored by a professional like Mr. Taylor will be transformative for her development as a young chef.
