The Best Ever Christmas Concert 2025!

Wonderful Talent on Show to Bring in the Festive Season
Our newly formed Media Team report on our Christmas Concert.
The atmosphere at the Christmas Concert was buzzing; instruments tuning, excited chatter and a growing sense of anticipation filled the hall, audience and performers alike awaiting the beginning of the show. The first three acts (Year 9 and 8 rock bands) gave an awakening, rock-influenced opening, each followed by a resounding applause. Later on in the show, two more rock bands performed more pop-inspired songs - “Hard Times” and “wish you well”. All the bands’ performances had audience members tapping their feet along!
But it wasn’t just rock songs performed - four steel pans groups gave vibrant and energetic renditions of Christmas classics, such as “Ding Dong Merrily on High” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”. This included a group from Moss Park Primary School, whose performance of “Little Donkey” was a delightful interlude.
There were also many ensemble acts, such as Fusion, who played a medley of James Bond themes; Samba band, whose intricate drumming rhythms captured the audience’s attention during their performance of Snoopy’s New Samba; and Strings, whose act consisted of a Christmas medley and songs from La La Land.
The three solo acts all received some of the loudest cheers of the night. Bonita's (Year 10) guitar solo had the audience amazed, while Jared's (Year 9) emotional rendition of “Hey There Delilah” and Martin's (Year 10) performance of “Merry Go Round of LIfe” on the piano left the audience touched and awe-struck.
Finally, the Staff Band’s performance of “Underneath the Tree” and the choir's Grease medley provided a joyous ending to the concert. The music staff all enjoyed the night, music teacher Mrs Swales said, “It was a very successful evening. Lots of variety and lots of talent”.
Many thanks to Mr Wright and the music teachers for a wonderful evening!
