On the evening of 17th March, the Stretford Grammar School canteen was transformed into a space of warmth, reflection, and shared belonging as our school community gathered for a Communal Iftar.

Organised by students supported by Assistant Headteacher Mrs. Akhter, the event brought together a diverse group of students, families, and staff to observe the breaking of the fast during this holy month of Ramadan. The evening was more than just a meal; it was a profound demonstration of the inclusivity and mutual respect that define our school's ethos.

An Evening of Reflection and Connection

The program commenced at 5:30 pm, with families arriving to a bustling atmosphere as the canteen filled with donated dishes and smiling faces. The schedule for the evening allowed for both educational insight and spiritual reflection:

• 6:00 pm: A moving talk on the significance of Ramadan and Fasting, providing all attendees with a deeper understanding of the discipline, gratitude, and charity central to the month.
• 6:20 pm: As the sun set, the community shared in the traditional breaking of the fast.
• 6:25 pm: A congregational sunset prayer was observed, offering a moment of peace and unity.
• 6:35 pm: The Iftar meal began—a true feast that showcased the culinary heritage of our school's vibrant community.
