Governor's Tribute to Mr Mullins

Harry Almond, Chair of Governors, and the whole governing board pay tribute to Mr Mullins

Michael was a uniquely talented Headteacher and a man of unshakeable principles. He treated everyone he encountered with compassion and scrupulous fairness, holding himself to the highest standards and believing in the capacity of others to aim high at all times. He was quietly brilliant, calm, methodical, and able to attend to the smallest detail of school life. Throughout his career, he always maintained his integrity, being driven by his determination to give every child the best possible education and a strong sense of belonging in the school community. His ambition for the school was transformative, borne of a clear vision and exemplary wisdom, inspiring confidence that all his decisions were made with sound intentions. About his own achievements, he was always modest, and he respected the dignity of every person he encountered, finding the best in us all. It has been a privilege to know and work alongside him and he will always be remembered with the greatest affection among staff and students, past and present. He is irreplaceable, his loss devastating, but we will honour him by continuing his outstanding legacy at Stretford Grammar School, as he would have wanted. He was a loyal family man, immensely proud of his wife, his children and his granddaughter, and our thoughts and prayers are with his beloved family.
