British Cycling Launches Search for Next Track Cycling Stars

Summer Talent ID Days Open to Students

Stretford Grammar School students have the opportunity to showcase their athletic potential this summer, as British Cycling launches a series of Talent ID Open Testing Days across the region.

The initiative, led by British Cycling’s Talent Inclusion team, targets young people aged 12 to 16. The sessions offer a direct introduction to the world of track cycling, with the potential for selected participants to enter formal development pathways.

What to Expect

The open days require no prior track cycling experience. Coaches from British Cycling will guide participants through a series of tests designed to measure speed, power, and endurance.

This programme aims to uncover raw athletic talent and provide young people with a clear pathway into competitive sport. For standout participants, these sessions could mark the first step toward future regional and national development squads.

How to Take Part

The testing days will run throughout the summer holidays. Parents and students can find full details, including venues, dates, and booking requirements, via the official British Cycling channels.
