Incredible GCSE Results!

A fantastic set of results for a hard working cohort.

Stretford Grammar School is delighted to share the news of our BEST EVER results at GCSE:

  • 22% of all grades at Grade 9
  • 49% of all grades at Grade 8 and above
  • 71% of all grades at Grade 7 and above

This year, the school has seen some truly remarkable performances with 49% of grades at Grades 9 and 8. A total of 53 (33%) students achieved Grade 7 and above across all their subjects.

These results highlight the commitment and determination of our students, and they are well-placed for the next stage of their academic or future career pathway.

Acting Headteacher Mrs. Baxter:

As a school, we could not be happier with these results, thoroughly deserved by our students. We are all so proud of our Year 11 2026: their hard work and commitment throughout the two years, as well as the resilience and fortitude they showed during the exam period to achieve such amazing outcomes. They went into these exams during a very difficult period for the school and yet they have perfectly embodied our core values of aspiration, courage and endeavour.

I also want to pay tribute to and sincerely thank all of the staff who have taught and supported our Year 11 cohort so expertly but also with care, compassion and utter dedication.

My gratitude also goes to our parent body, who have supported us all in school so tangibly and thoughtfully over the last two years, but particularly over the last term, thank you.  It was truly joyful to see so many of you at school this morning celebrating with your children.

Whilst we continue to feel the loss of Mr. Mullins and Mr. McAvoy, the return of our Year 11 cohort to school today was a morning filled with happiness and pride, as students reunited with friends and teachers to celebrate their achievements. Our uniquely close-knit community, strong pastoral support, and expert delivery have once again proven to be key ingredients in student success.

Congratulations to all our students—you have made Stretford Grammar School proud!
