We are exceptionally proud to share a truly inspiring story from our school community. Our very own student, Emma Russell, featured in a recent Manchester Evening News report following her brave and quick-thinking actions that kept a young child safe.

Stepping Up in a Crisis

When Emma spotted a two-year-old girl wandering alone near a busy road on Edge Lane in Stretford, she immediately stepped in. Recognizing the danger, Emma remained remarkably calm. She stayed with the distressed toddler to offer reassurance, kept her out of harm's way, and contacted emergency services straight away.

Thanks to Emma's swift intervention and composure, police officers were able to safely reunite the little girl with her worried family shortly after. Emma’s outstanding community spirit did not go unnoticed; she was officially awarded a Letter of Commendation from Greater Manchester Police (Trafford District) in recognition of her vital role in keeping the child safe.
