The Year 10 team, captained by Amelia,  took on their Netball tournament with great enthusiasm and energy and came out with some fantastic results.

The first game saw them face Ashton-On-Mersey and this was a close one to call. It was even throughout but we managed to come out on top with a 2-1 win.

The second game saw us face Altrincham Girls Grammar B team and this was another close game. Both ends of the court were busy and the defence had to work hard to turn over the ball. The game finished in a 3-3 draw, which was a tough score in the end as we ended with possession.

Our next game saw a comfortable 5-1 win over Wellington and saw the team play some excellent netball down the court. The shooting combination of Orla and Isla worked well together to move the ball around the circle, resulting in a great score line.

Our final group game saw us take on Urmston, who looked a strong side. At half time, we were 3-0 up and confidence was showing. Urmston, however, came back stronger than before and the game ended with a  5-4 loss. The team fought hard but Urmston fought harder.

When all the results were in, just 1 point separated us from progressing into the semi-finals. The team played incredibly well, and the results were a far cry from last year’s so they should be really proud of themselves. Player of the day went to Isla as she was formidable in the shooting circle, took an elbow to the cheek and carried out without a word and, tactically, played some great shots. Special mentions go to the captain Amelia and Praise who played in both attack and defence, supporting the team where they were needed.
