FutureChef Round 3: Budding Chefs Impress Staff Judges

Talented student cooks from across Year 9, Year 10, and Year 11 took to the kitchens this week for Round 3 of this year's FutureChef competition. The judges tasted an incredible range of ingredients and flavours, with every participant demonstrating exceptional culinary skill and creativity under time pressure.
Standout Dishes and Culinary Innovation
The level of technical execution across the kitchen was high throughout the heat. Several dishes earned special praise from the judging panel for their bold flavour pairings and precise presentation:
- Maya (10T): Kidney bean-based tacos with balanced seasoning and fresh toppings.
- Inayah (10T): Richly spiced chickpea curry served alongside seasoned rice.
- Aaminah (9R): Handmade pumpkin gnocchi cooked to a soft, delicate texture.
- Isla (10T): Fried Gochujang tofu accompanied by house-pickled red onions and a crisp Asian slaw.
- Ed (10O): Savoury scallion pancakes served with spiced tofu and seared asparagus.

Praise from the Department
Curriculum Leader for Food and Nutrition, Miss Khadem, commended the participants for their consistency and professionalism across every stage of the contest:
"The quality of work on display throughout Round 3 was outstanding. The staff judges have been thoroughly impressed with everything they have tasted over all three rounds of the competition. Narrowing down a winner from such a talented group of young chefs has proven exceptionally difficult."
The official winner of Round 3 will be announced by the end of the week. Congratulations to all competitors on reaching this stage and delivering such memorable plates of food!
