The House System
Launching in 2026, our new House System will play a central role in strengthening enrichment opportunities, developing student leadership, and fostering an even greater sense of belonging, participation and community across the school.
Following a student-led process to generate ideas for house names, staff held a final vote and selected names inspired by trees that are characteristic of our local area. The five houses are:
Alder, Ash, Hawthorn, Oak and Sycamore.
Every student will be assigned to one of these houses and will be supported by a dedicated House Leader, who will help to inspire, guide and celebrate students throughout their school journey.
The House System will provide a wide range of opportunities for students to contribute to school life, develop leadership skills and work collaboratively with their peers. Through a programme of exciting Inter-House competitions, students will earn points for their house across academic, sporting, creative and community-focused activities.
At the heart of the House System are our school values of Resilience, Courage, Respect, Endeavour and Ambition. Through participation in House events and competitions, students will be encouraged to demonstrate these values, challenge themselves, support others and take pride in their achievements.
We are excited to launch this new chapter in 2026 and look forward to seeing students embrace the spirit of friendly competition and teamwork as they represent Alder, Ash, Hawthorn, Oak and Sycamore, making a positive contribution to school life and helping their House thrive.
