About Us
Stretford Grammar School is a high-achieving, selective 11–18 school in Trafford, part of a strong local network of grammar schools working closely together for the benefit of our students. We are proud of our academic record and equally proud of our pastoral care, which is reflected in the warmth and compassion within our school community.
64% of our students are from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and 29% speak a language other than English at home. The Governing Board is committed to building a staff body at all levels that reflects our students and our local community.
This is an important moment in the school's history, and the Governing Board is seeking a Headteacher who will provide strong leadership with integrity and compassion as we look to the future with confidence.
The Role
Governors are seeking an outstanding and ambitious Headteacher who will:
- Provide visible, collaborative leadership across the school community, building on an established school culture
- Develop our strong academic tradition within a nurturing environment where every student is valued for their unique qualities as a member of the school community.
- Champion inclusivity and social justice, empowering all members of the school community to enact positive change
- Lead, develop and support a talented staff team through a period of change
- Work in partnership with an experienced and committed Governing Board
- Bring energy, resilience and sound judgement to the daily challenges of running an excellent school, consistently seeking the best outcomes within a shared vision
- Take on an existing new build project, due for completion in 2030
