Outstanding GCSE Results!

Stretford Grammar School Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results

Stretford Grammar School is proud to announce another year of exceptional GCSE results, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of our Year 11 students. These achievements are a testament to the hard work of our students and the unwavering dedication of our staff and parents.

GCSEs represent a crucial stage in a student’s education, laying the foundation for future academic and career pathways. They not only assess subject knowledge but also reflect a student’s ability to manage pressure, set goals, and persevere through challenges—skills that are essential for success in life beyond school.

This year, the school has seen some truly remarkable performances. With 47% of grades at Grades 9 and 8, this year’s cohort has demonstrated that they were able to make significant progress from their early start at secondary school with all of the pressures of the pandemic.  An impressive 47 students achieved grades 7, 8, or 9 across all their subjects, with special recognition going to Tony, Lola and Yazan, who each earned a phenomenal 10 grade 9s. Overall, these results highlight the resilience and determination of our students, and they are well-placed for the next stage of their academic or future career pathway.

Headteacher Mr Mullins shared his pride, stating:

Against a backdrop of ever-increasing challenge, I am delighted to see that our students have developed the determination, resiliency and skill set to achieve these results regardless of the pandemic and the impact that this has had on teaching and learning during their earliest years at secondary school. The last few months have certainly been testing at times, however, it must be noted that behind these excellent headline figures there are real stories of endeavour and hard work on the part of our students.

Over the past decade, Stretford Grammar has consistently demonstrated academic excellence. From steady improvements in attainment to maintaining high standards during the pandemic years, the school has built a strong reputation for nurturing both academic and personal growth. Stretford Grammar School’s curriculum is carefully designed to foster academic excellence and personal growth, which has directly contributed to its students achieving outstanding GCSE results. The school’s curriculum intent focuses on equipping students not only with the qualifications needed for their next academic steps but also with the knowledge, skills, and values essential for success for the students in their futures.

Mr Mullins added:

A huge thank you must go to the Curriculum Leaders who have expertly prepared their areas for the challenges that the students faced – with their dedication and drive and all the extra revision classes and providing the highest quality teaching resources, such results have been made possible. As a school we pride ourselves on the closeness of our community, the pastoral support and the guidance of both teachers and parent/carers alike. I believe that such a highly personalised approach to each student has prepared them for these exams and life beyond academia – well done to all, and I look forward to seeing you all in September.

The return of our Year 11 cohort to school today was filled with joy and pride, as students reunited with friends and teachers to celebrate their achievements. The school’s close-knit community, strong pastoral support, and personalised guidance have once again proven to be key ingredients in student success.

Congratulations to all our students—you have made Stretford Grammar School proud!
