World Mental Health Day 2025

Staff Briefing Marks World Mental Health Day at Stretford Grammar School
In recognition of World Mental Health Day, staff at Stretford Grammar School gathered for an insightful and impactful briefing led by Mrs Dolphin, who presented a comprehensive session focused on mental health and wellbeing.
The presentation, designed to empower staff with the tools to better support students, covered a wide range of critical topics: Safeguarding Essentials: Staff were reminded of key safeguarding protocols and how mental health concerns intersect with student safety. Recognising Anxiety: Practical guidance was shared on identifying signs of anxiety in young people, including behavioural cues and emotional indicators. Navigating the Digital Landscape: Mrs Dolphin highlighted the growing risks posed by AI bots and the importance of digital literacy in spotting misinformation, disinformation, and conspiracy theories. Support Services: Staff were briefed on the counselling services available within the school and the additional support offered through Trafford Thrive in Education, ensuring students have access to professional help when needed.
This briefing not only reinforced the school’s commitment to student wellbeing but also equipped staff with the knowledge to foster a safer, more supportive environment. The information shared is instrumental in guiding how staff engage with and care for the student body in the months ahead.
As Mrs Dolphin noted, “Mental health is everyone’s responsibility—and together, we can make a real difference.”
