On Wednesday 24th June, a group of our Year 12 students took part in the Alliance Manchester Business School Investment Challenge, held at the University’s Oxford Road campus. The event brought together schools and colleges from across the region for a fast‑paced financial competition designed to stretch students’ maths, business and decision‑making skills.

Throughout the day, our students worked in teams using the Global Investor Finance Lab simulation, analysing real‑time data, responding to market changes and making strategic investment decisions. The challenge helped them strengthen their confidence with data, deepen their understanding of financial concepts and gain insight into careers in business, economics and finance.

The experience also gave students a valuable taste of university life and highlighted the wide range of higher education opportunities available to them.

We are incredibly proud of how well our students represented the school and embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and professionalism. It was a fantastic opportunity, and we look forward to taking part again in the future.
