Stretford Grammar Art Students Inspired at Conway Centre

A group of Stretford Grammar School students completed an immersive Art residential trip to the Conway Centre from Friday 3rd July to Sunday 5th July 2026.
The school offered places on the weekend trip to celebrate student success in recent mid-year Art assessments, alongside sustained effort, a positive attitude, and passion for the subject. Invitations also extended to students who demonstrated a clear interest in, or aptitude for, studying Art at GCSE level.
Designed to inspire creativity and build confidence, the residential provided practical experience to prepare students for the demands of GCSE study. During the visit, students participated in a programme of art workshops led by professional practitioners, as well as a selection of outdoor team-building activities to enhance collaboration and wellbeing.
Insights from the Art Department
Mrs Penny-Collings, Curriculum Leader for Art, expressed pride in the students' achievements during the weekend:
"This residential provided our students with a fantastic opportunity to develop their practical skills and prepare for GCSE study. The dedication, passion, and collaborative spirit shown during the workshops and team activities reflected the very best of Stretford Grammar School."
