Welcome to our School

Year 12 Aerospace Roadshow

Our Year 12 Physics students recently attended the Aerospace Careers Programme Roadshow at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, an exciting event designed to showcase the wide range of opportunities available within the aerospace and aviation industries.

Throughout the day, students gained valuable insights into future careers through engaging talks from industry professionals, who highlighted the diverse pathways into the sector, including apprenticeships, university degrees and other routes into employment. They also learnt about the rapidly changing nature of the job market and how new technologies continue to create exciting career opportunities across aerospace and engineering.

The hands-on activities were a particular highlight. Students had the opportunity to test their skills on drone and airline simulators and experience how virtual reality technology is used in engineering disciplines to visualise and develop projects such as rocket designs. They also attended a fascinating session on the journey to becoming a pilot, exploring the training, qualifications and experience required for a career in aviation.

The roadshow provided an inspiring glimpse into a cutting-edge industry and helped our students see how the problem-solving, analytical and practical skills they develop through Physics can lead to a wide variety of exciting and rewarding careers. It was a highly enjoyable and informative experience that broadened horizons and sparked enthusiasm for future STEM opportunities.
