On 8th and 10th September, our Year 11 GCSE PE students visited Awesome Walls in Stockport to complete their practical assessment in Rock Climbing.

As in previous years, the team at Awesome Walls were fantastic, organising both days exceptionally well and providing an excellent experience for our students. Our students approached the two days with a fantastic level of determination and focus, with just a touch of competitiveness thrown in! They demonstrated once again just how fantastic our Stretford Grammar School students are. The opportunity to achieve a practical mark in this area is invaluable to many of our GCSE PE students. It allows them to challenge themselves, build confidence and push beyond areas they may previously have been wary of. A huge thank you to the team at Awesome Walls and all of their instructors for the hard work, encouragement and expertise they put in over the two days, and for facilitating such a valuable experience for our students.
