National Poetry Day 2021

A day of celebration in the library

On October 7th, students were invited to come visit the school library at break and lunch, to immerse themselves in the world of poetry.

Students were given the option to revise a poem and learn it for reading aloud to visitors of the library; apply to be a reader of residence, and share stories which they are passionate about. This helped give participants a confidence boost, and develop their ability to convey a message through speech.

Although National Poetry Day itself is over, that doesn’t mean the activities stop there. Want to get creative? Then maybe the poetry contest is for you. It’s a great way for you to showcase your writing capabilities, and freely display your creativity. Need ideas? You could write about:

* Current Affairs
* Environment
* Education
* Equal Rights
* Idols and Ambitions
* Hopes and Dreams

The possibilities are endless, you could write about anything! If you’re interested in joining, make sure you get in your entries before October 22nd, the deadline for the competition.

If you’re interested, you can also visit the National Poetry Day Website.
