.....players at Trafford Metrovicks RUFCC.  Stretford started on the back foot, conceding early to an excellent cross-field kick from the Trafford Barbarians. Shortly after, Macauley Horrax broke the line from a scrum touching down to make the score, 5-5. The Barbarians scored against an outnumbered Stretford defence, making it 10-5. only for Jacob to level the tie at 10-10 after some fine scrummaging. However, as time passed, fatigue took its toll and the smooth passing of the Barbarians stretched the score to 20-10. in their favour.  However, Stretford never gave up and Rory broke through the Barbarian's defence after a number of fine phases of play, making the score, 20-15. A break away try from Barbarians undid the good work of Stretford Grammar but  an outstanding run from Cauley, side-stepping his way through a broken defence led to Rory scoring his second try for Stretford to narriow the deficit.  In the final minutes of play, a great behind the back offload assist sent Cauley to run down the wing to put 2 tries next to his name. The final score was 25-25. Back of the Match went to Macauley Horrax for his amazing running with the ball, finishing tries and gaining ground. Forward of the Match goes to Kai Yi Chen for his powerful carrying. The boys should be immensely proud of each other for grinding out a draw against a team consisting of the best Year 8 rugby players in Trafford.  An excellent first performance of the year. So Proud!
