Which involved 8 teams coming to Stretford Grammar School and playing each other to decide league groups and fixtures. The team were captained by Annie Cropper and played well in their first fixture against a strong Flixton side, where the team lost 2-0. We then moved on to play Ashton on Mersey, which ended in a 0-0 draw.  St Anthony’s were our next opposition and the team won that game, 1-0. Games against Wellington, Blessed Thomas Holford and Urmston saw us lose out narrowly, but the game play developed as we came across each team. Stand-out performances by Glorianna Moynihan, Mollie Killworth and Isla Ritchie, who played in a number of positions.

The team showed great promise for the season ahead, and I’m expecting solid, competitive fixtures moving forward.
