On Wednesday the 28th of February, the Year 8 Boys Rugby Team took their aggression and skill to the pitches at Trafford Metrovicks Rugby Club to play against other emerging rugby schools in the local area. They initially played against Altrincham College, beating them 3 tries to 1. Similarly, the boys beat Sale Grammar School in their second and other game 3 tries to 1. Throughout the fixtures there were, of course, some stand-out performances, especially from the two Year 7 boys. Ultimately, the Player of the Matches was Richard McClean for his intent to be aggressive in the carry, and for his fearless ability to contest the ruck to create turnovers. Tomos Newell captained the team and was extremely proud of the success that the team showed. A talented prospect before next year’s fixtures.
